Essential points to know
1. No obstacles for foreigners
Spain allows non-residents to freely purchase property, whether for living, investing, or vacationing.
2.NIE (Foreigner Identification Number)
It is a tax identification number essential for:

- Opening a bank account in Spain
- Paying taxes related to the property
It can be requested at the Spanish consulate in your country or directly on-site.
3. Spanish bank account
Necessary for:
- Completing the payment for the property
- Settling taxes and condominium fees
4. Ownership ≠ Right of residence
Buying a property does not automatically give you the right to live in Spain.
You can generally stay for up to 90 days every 180 days without a visa (depending on the agreements between Spain and your country).
To live in Spain long-term, you may need to apply for:
- A non-lucrative visa, or
- A Golden Visa (by purchasing at least €500,000 worth of property)
